My Therapeutic Approach

In my approach, I follow a Person-Centered, Strengths-Based perspective, recognizing that you are the expert of your own life. I believe that you possess the capacity for self-improvement, and I'm here to provide you with therapeutic tools to facilitate your personal growth. In our journey together, we will explore narrative techniques which can enhance your understanding of and coping with life events. Additionally, I incorporate skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which can empower you to accept aspects of life beyond your control or ability to change. I also approach therapy from a decolonizing lens, understanding the importance of recognizing intersecting identities and acknowledging the significance of your unique lived experiences in our work together.

Hi, I'm Kirsten! I am originally from New York, but the mountains brought me out to Colorado. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my little dog named Mister!  I have worked in the mental health field for just around five years.  I always enjoy learning more about people and their stories, and witnessing the incredible diversity of human experiences. I understand that everyone is on a unique journey, and in our work together we will hold space for your joys and challenges together. My approach to therapy is rooted in authenticity, honoring our shared humanity, and offering empathetic listening. I believe that in the safety of our therapeutic space, you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.
