Acquiring Clients and Hours
-
A: No, Momentum has a dedicated team supporting you with marketing and client referrals are sent right to you. You are never asked to cultivate your own leads or referrals.
-
A: As many as you want! We have a constant stream of clients. Just ask and we will send you clients! We require practicum students to maintain a caseload of at least 6 client sessions each week and we require interns to maintain a caseload of at least 12 client sessions each week.
-
A: We are delighted to extend our support to students encountering challenges in accumulating their required hours as a supplemental site.
Our only stipulations are that students in their practicum still average 6 client sessions a week and students in their internship still average 12 client sessions a week.
Students are also required to still have a supervisor at Momentum and meet with them weekly for an hour for triadic supervision.

“When I began my internship I was aware of tele-health, but assumed I would be primarily working in-person and was hoping to have the "traditional" therapeutic experience with my clients. I was stunned by the amount of people who preferred or were only able to access our services online. Along with them, I've found myself not only preferring to work online but wanting to transition to it exclusively. I am much more comfortable in my home office and I feel my work benefits greatly from it as well. Having a two monitor setup allows me to write down notes while remaining attentive to my clients, as well as accessing resources for them immediately without having to pull out a phone and disrupt the flow of the session. I'm able to provide valuable help to clients who live in remote areas that do not have access to quality mental health care, or come from places where it is not encouraged and they can now do so safely from their homes.” -Nick Moon

A:
-You are in the comfort of your own space
-There is no traveling between the office and your home so you save on fuel and time.
-It is convenient both in terms of access and your ability as a therapist to quickly send your client homework or a link in the session to review together.
-Momentum provides HIPAA-compliant platforms such as Doxy, Google Meet, and Zoom, computers, ring lights, high resolution webcams, and other hardware to help make your space telehealth ready.
-Access to a larger pool of clients so you can fill up your caseload even faster.
-You are not alone in the room with a client so there is an element of safety that telehealth platforms provide.
